The Conflagration is an epic fantasy for adult and young adult audiences.

In the medieval kingdom of Feltor, a teen named Rom is transformed, gaining super-power when he is exposed to a radioactive meteorite.

Rom gains multiple super powers at the cycle end, a time when radioactivity of the old meteorites is mostly decayed and only a few people can barely Spark. The comet Aelcon arrives once every four centuries and rains down a few transformative meteorites. Now he must keep his newly arrived, out-of-cycle, meteorite secret while learning to wield great power.

When he enrolls in the Pudlack School for the Powered, he meets Prince Tolton and saves him from assassination, leading to his ennoblement. Named Viscount XII of Leighton, Rom must become a responsible lord for the trust of the lives in his care whilst repairing the dilapidating estate he was granted.

Training from early childhood in an isolated military community to be an elite soldier has left Rom with major cultural and ethical values that dictate his responses to various challenges. He is often unaware and naïve of the normative culture in the rest of the Kingdom of Feltor, leading to some confusion and comedic moments.

As he works with Dukes Wesley and Tolton to uncover a plot to destroy Feltor, their country, Rom finds his place as a major protector of the kingdom. He will be much needed in the future as multiple threats accumulate.
